Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8th, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents who were dental surgeons and teacher recognized and backed her passion for acting and theatre since her early years, which overcame her initial ambition to become a primatologist due to her fascination with monkeys. Her rise to stardom as a young actress was quick and accompanied by early success. After completing her education, she was able to be a part of Jeunes Premiers which is which is a French television talent-scouting program that was sponsored by Canal+. She also took home the Most Popular Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. That led her embark on a professional acting career. Tautou was educated at the Institut Catholique de Paris, in addition to attending church as an infant. She has since moved away from her religious background. She has stated that she is not necessarily Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou pursued modelling and was the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. As well as her acting profession She also takes an interest in photography. The actress recently showed some images at the Arles Film Festival, under the title Superficial. She is a photographer who focuses on celebrity, fame and the press that scrutinized her after her rise to fame with Amelie. Additionally, there are a number of photographs featuring herself. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie is a huge international box office success and has been recognized in numerous award shows around the world. Amelie is the most successful movie in French language productions in the US. In the wake of this enormous success, Tautou starred in numerous films such as British dramas, like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
